Professional Development

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is committed to providing ongoing formal and informal educational opportunities for medical students, residents, physicians and nurses. Professional development activities are designed to maintain, develop and increase knowledge and skill while offering opportunities to enhance professional performance and relationships.

We partner closely with The Office of Continuing Medical Education at the Feinberg School of Medicine to offer accredited professional programs presented by faculty from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology as well as invited lecturers. These programs cover a variety of topics, including:

  • Educational methodologies in academic medicine
  • Practice management and the business of medicine
  • Updates surrounding subspecialties and surgical technique

Additionally, subspecialty conferences provide trainees and faculty with the chance to learn from discussions with faculty from the Departments of Surgery, Pathology, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and other clinical and research partners. The additional knowledge and skills gained from these experiences enhance the already significant contributions to medical education, research and patient care of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
