Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellows

Current Fellows

Kayla Nixon, MD

Second-Year Fellow

Kayla grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, earned a B.S. in Biology at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, and attended Mayo Clinic College of Medicine for medical school. Between her 2nd and 3rd year of medical school, she obtained a Master’s degree in Art History from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, concentrating on arts and health/hospital art programming. She completed OB/GYN residency at Mayo Clinic prior to moving to Chicago for MIGS fellowship at Northwestern.

Nisha Garg, MD

First-Year Fellow

Nisha Garg grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, MI. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During medical school, she also completed a master's degree in Genomic Medicine. She completed her OB/GYN residency at UC Irvine Medical Center. She has now returned to Chicago to train at Northwestern for her MIGS fellowship.

Recent Fellows

Jessica Traylor, MD

Jessica Traylor obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently a second-year fellow in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.

Jaclyn Friedman, MD

Jaclyn Friedman obtained her undergraduate degree from Tulane University and her medical degree from New York Medical College. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine. She is currently a minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. 

Farah Alvi, MD, MS

Farah Alvi obtained medical education form the University of Toledo College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Resurrection St. Joseph in 2015 and fellowship at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine In Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery in 2017. She is currently a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic surgeon at Northwest Community Hospital.

Laura Glaser, MD

Laura Matthews Glaser obtained her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Northwestern University/McGaw Medical Center. She is currently a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic surgeon at Northwestern Medicine's Lake Forest Hospital.
