eMerg
eMerg is a homegrown learning management system (LMS) that serves as the curricular repository for the Augusta Webster, MD, Office of Medical Education. It is used by MD students, faculty and staff to access and manage learning materials that comprise organ system-based learning modules and to communicate about skill development and academic achievement. eMerg includes a customizable schedule that links students to digital learning assets and a curriculum search feature that enables users to locate the digital learning assets for any module, clerkship, element or thread.
Canvas
Canvas is Northwestern’s university-wide LMS. It is used by Northwestern students, faculty and staff to access, manage and engage digital learning materials that comprise courses as well as to assess and communicate about academic achievement. Canvas includes features that can be used to create an array of customized learning experiences, including assessable assignments, quizzes and discussions, as well as pages that can be customized with text, video and links to files or other course content. All these features and more can be housed in a modular structure that controls the flow of the course.
