Qiang Zhang, MD, PhD
Research Assistant Professor
Dr. Zhang was appointed as Research Assistant Professor of Urology in 2004. He graduated with an MD from Fujian Medical University (PRC) in 1993 and went on to complete his general surgery and urology residency training there. Dr. Zhang earned his PhD from Peking University in Beijing in 2001. He continued his training with a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University, which was funded through an American Foundation for Urologic Disease (AFUD) scholarship. Dr. Zhang’s research interests include prostate cancer immunotherapy by adoptive transfer of tumor reactive TGF-beta-insensitive CD8+ T cells and methylation of the promoters of TGF-beta receptors.
