The mission of the Institute for Augmented Intelligence in Medicine is to bridge computational methods with human expertise to advance medical science and improve human health.
Our six centers will deepen Northwestern's focus on augmented intelligence in the following areas:
Center for Computational Imaging & Signal Analytics in Medicine
This center looks to apply advanced analytic methods to augment clinical care using imaging or sensor data. Programs within this center include imaging patterns, sensor analytics and cardiac application.
Center for Deep Phenotyping & Precision Therapeutics
This center is focused on high-definition phenotyping of patients, applying machine learning to reclassify heterogeneous clinical syndromes and performing novel clinical trials to advance precision medicine.
Center for Advanced Molecular Analysis
This center seeks to generate and analyze cellular and population omics data for improved diagnostics.
Center for Biomedical Informatics & Data ScienceThis unit, a joint center between our institute and the Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, develops and supports informatics methods and tools to effectively use data in clinical settings and to train the next generation of biomedical informaticians.
Center for Bioethics & Medical HumanitiesThis unit, a joint center between our institute and the Institute for Public Health and Medicine, will establish a program in the ethics of data, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Center for Education in Data Science & Digital HealthOur center aspires to impart trainees with foundational knowledge and skills in the research and application of technology to improve health.
