Education, research and advocacy related to disorders of circadian rhythms and sleep.
What We Do
We support a number of opportunities for those seeking to further their education and careers within our field, including an ACGME Accredited sleep medicine fellowship and pre- and post-doctoral training opportunities.
Our scientists are studying how sleep and circadian rhythms affect human health and the development of various diseases and disorders as well as developing sleep and circadian based interventions to improve health.
Patient CareCenter Physicians provide patient care through Feinberg-affiliated hospitals, including the Northwestern Medicine Sleep Health Center.
Immunization with a heat-killed bacterium, Mycobacterium vaccae NCTC 11659, prevents the development of cortical hyperarousal and a PTSD-like sleep phenotype after sleep disruption and acute stress in mice.
