Center for Translational Pain Research

Advancing the science of pain.

The Center for Translational Pain Research aims to expand the creative, high-quality research at Northwestern to foster an enhanced understanding of the mechanisms of pain. This accelerated discovery will lead to the development of new non-opioid treatments for managing and relieving acute and chronic pain conditions of varying types. We look to develop an organizational structure that integrates research, education and clinical practice as well as a focus on training future basic and clinical scientists.

Our center is a new, exciting phase for pain research at Northwestern. It is a timely and urgently needed structure that should quickly translate into new opportunities to grow the research, education and patient care within Feinberg and create a world-famous center with the intent of relieving pain suffering worldwide."
