Description of Program

This is a 2-year clinical and research program. The program affords training in both advanced endourologic and laparoscopic procedures, including prostatectomy, pyeloplasty, nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy and cryoablation. Training in the treatment of medical stone disease in an outpatient clinical setting is also provided. The outpatient clinical experience is heavily weighted toward endourology/laparoscopy patients; however, some general urology patients are also seen. Clinical research is stressed, although basic research (primarily in nanotechnology) is also available.

Clinical Volume

  • Percutaneous procedures: 50.

  • Laparoscopic procedures: 60.

  • Ureteroscopic procedures: 105.

  • Shockwave Lithotripsy procedures: 60.

Multiple PhD advisors are available to supervise research. Fellows have access to bench space and both minimally invasive and animal lab facilities. They do not take call.
