| Seth Eisenberg, MD seisenbe@nmh.org The one-year program for specialized training in Addiction Psychiatry provides an eclectic array of core and elective rotations. The program framework is broadly biopsychosocial and emphasizes competence in simple and complicated detoxification of multiple substances, assessment and treatment of co-occurring disorders, work with special populations, and familiarity with all components of the continuum of care for addiction treatment. The clinical rotations take place through the inpatient and outpatient programs of Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Stone Institute of Psychiatry and the Consultation Liaison Chemical Dependency Service; the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center's West Side Hospital; and community based, public sector treatment agencies. Didactic instruction includes topics such as the clinical psychopharmacology of substances of abuse, special populations, the broad continuum of addiction treatment, co-occurring disorders, opioid replacement therapy, motivational enhancement therapy, treatment systems issues, and pathological gambling. | | Psychosomatic Medicine/Chemical Dependency (PM/CD) at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (50%) | Stone Institute Intensive Out-Patient Chemical Dependency Treatment Program (IOP) (20%) | Women’s Treatment Center (WTC) (25%) | | Stone Institute In-Patient Units (50%) | Warren Wright Adolescent Treatment Center (20%) | VA Westside Residential Treatment Program (25%) | | Out-Patient Treatment Center (OTC) intake/evaluations for adults and adolescents | Early Engagement MET Group and Early Recovery Group (ERG) | OTC individual out-patient treatment | Warren Wright individual out-patient treatment and family treatment |
