The Department of Dermatology provides a wide spectrum of medical and surgical clinical services. Faculty members and residents of the Department of Dermatology see patients primarily at the clinics on the Medical School campus located at 676 North St. Clair, Suite 1600 in Chicago. Satellite clinics are available at Prentice Hospital (Women's Skin Health Program) and in the suburbs (Mohs surgery facilities). Pediatric patients are seen by the pediatric specialists at the Children's Memorial Hospital’s ambulatory center (2515 N. Clark Street) and Children’s satellite clinics. As part of their training program, dermatology residents also have the opportunity to see patients at the Lakeside Veteran’s Administration Hospital and with contributed services faculty members at Evanston Hospital.
The primary clinics specialize in all aspects of diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, nails, and mucosal disorders, including skin surgery and cosmetic procedures. Our clinics are staffed by board certified dermatologists who pursue a wide range of academic activities including teaching, clinical research, and basic science research.
In addition to general dermatology, we offer a complete range of cutaneous and aesthetic surgical services, including Mohs cancer chemosurgery, laser surgery, liposuction surgery and cosmetic surgery. The Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery Division of Dermatology also specializes in the care of patients who have undergone transplantation and are at risk for skin carcinomas.
We have several specialized clinics or services for pigmented skin lesions/melanoma, cutaneous lymphoma, ethnic skin, collagen vascular disorders, psoriasis and inflammatory skin disorders, acne and excessive hair clinic for women, and a clinic specializing in industrial and contact skin disorders. Our photo-chemotherapy unit offers light treatment with PUVA, NB-UVB, and UVB. Our full-service dermatopathology unit provides processing and interpretation of histologic skin specimens as well as immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry services.
