Biography
Dr. Anne Laumann is an Professor of Dermatology and Director of the Collagen Vascular Disorders Clinic. She also serves as the Section Chief of General Dermatology. Dr. Laumann has special interests in complex dermatologic disease including nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, sexually transmitted disease, genital and psychocutaneous disorders as well as adolescent health. She is the principal investigator on a number of clinical trials related to atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and Raynaud phenomenon and is performing ongoing epidemiological research in relation to the application of body art.
She obtained her medical degree at the University of Birmingham, England, and completed residency training in internal medicine in the U.K. She was a dermatology research fellow at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in California and a resident in dermatology at the University of Chicago. Prior to joining the dermatology faculty at Northwestern, she held academic positions at both the University of Illinois in Chicago and the University of Chicago, and directed the dermatology unit at Michael Reese Hospital. She is an active member of a number of dermatology organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Chicago Dermatological Society, the Illinois Dermatological Society, the Women’s Dermatology Society, the Medical Dermatology Society, the Association of Psychocutaneous Medicine of North America, the Society of Investigative Dermatology, the British Association of Dermatology, the Leaders’ Society of the Dermatology Foundation, the Lupus Foundation, the Psoriasis foundation and the National Vitiligo Foundation. She has been vice-president of the Chicago Dermatology Society and President of the Illinois Dermatology Society. She is a fellow of the Institute of Medicine of Chicago.
