Current Fellows


Dermatopathology

  • Pedram Pouryazdanparast, MD earned his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He completed his internships in general surgery at Rush University Medical Center and at New York University (Categorical General Surgery). He started his residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at University of Michigan and completed it at Northwestern University. On July 1, 2011, he began his Dermatopathology fellowship at Northwestern University.


Procedural Dermatology

  • Melanie Warycha, MD, attended medical school and completed a preliminary medicine internship and Dermatology residency at New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Warycha also served as a Melanoma Translational Research Fellow at NYU. She began her appointment as Procedural Dermatology Fellow here at Northwestern University on July 1, 2011, with hopes of becoming an academic Mohs surgeon with a particular focus on research in nonmelanoma skin cancer.


Research Fellows (Clinical Trials Unit)

The Clinical Trials Unit in the Department of Dermatology facilitates both investigator and sponsor driven innovative clinical research studies.  Clinical research is conducted at both Northwestern University and Children’s Memorial Hospital.  The Clinical Trials Unit is directed by Dr. Dennis West.

  • Nazila Barahmani, MD is a former Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Scientist at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is a first year clinical research fellow.
  • Jaimee Holbrook, MD received her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She is a second year clinical research fellow.
  • Katherine Mercy, MD received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her Pediatrics Residency at Northwestern McGaw/Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. She is a first year clinical research fellow.
  • Elizabeth Sherlock, MD received her MD from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
  • Duri Yun, MD, MPH received her MD and MPH from the University of Illinois and completed her Pediatrics Residency at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital.  She is a first year clinical research fellow.
