Translational Core

The Department of Dermatology Clinical Research Unit is proud to announce the opening of the Dermatology Translational Core Facility headed by Dennis West, PhD, and co-directed by Amy Paller, MD. The Dermatology Translational Core is designed to facilitate studies on human skin and expedite the translation of laboratory-based research advances to patient care.   This Core provides tissue acquisition which serves both clinical and bench researchers, and recently initiated a database of patients with various epidermal disorders. Its consultative services regarding formulation of topical medications, dealing with regulatory and compliance issues, and designing clinical studies are available to all Dermatology faculty who perform clinical research and all Skin Disease Research Center members in an effort to encourage the transition of bench projects into clinical trials and ultimately use in human disease.

For further information or tissue requests, please contact Ann Cameron Haley at a-haley@northwestern.edu or 312-695-6624.
