Founders' Day - Official Kick-Off of the Academic Year
Please note: Our 2020 Founders’ Day event has been postponed to a later date due to local restrictions on gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Founders' Day marks the official opening of the academic year, celebrates the illustrious founders of the medical school and recognizes a rich history of more than 150 years of medical education. The formal ceremony features a welcome from the dean, a keynote address and a presentation of the M2 Student Senate Service Awards. The ceremony concludes with the M1 class being presented their white coats as a group from the M2 class, and their first recitation of the Declaration of Geneva. A reception, sponsored by the Medical Alumni Association, follows the ceremony.
