Northwestern Chicago Out Network

We are pleased to introduce a campus- and affiliate-wide networking group for LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) identified individuals and allies. The group began several years ago informally meeting after work and quickly became a regular social networking group for the support and encouragement of LGBTQA faculty, staff, students, fellows, and residents on the Northwestern Chicago campus. It currently draws participants from the medical school, law school, graduate school, affiliated hospitals and clinics. Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation, Northwestern University, Children's Memorial Hospital, and OUTLaw are pleased to offer formal support of the group's quarterly meetings, now called the Northwestern Chicago Out Network. It is our collective hope that providing a sponsorship for faculty, staff, and students who identify as LGBT or allies will ensure that our campus and affiliates have welcoming and inclusive environments.

Save the date!

Our next event will be Thursday, January 26, 2012, from 5-7pm.  This time, we want to make it about a little more than “just” networking.  We’re going to focus on community with a brief presentation by Brian Mustanski (Associate Professor, Department of Medical Social Sciences) on his IMPACT program (http://www.impactprogram.org/) for LGBT Health and Development.  Our food will be from Sweet Miss Givings (http://sweetmissgivings.com/), which benefits Chicago House.  Beverages will be provided by OutLaw, the Law School’s LGBT Student Organization.  And, of course, the will be plenty of networking opportunities with your fellow members of the Northwestern Chicago campus community.

This event will be held in the Northwestern University Bluhm Legal Clinic, which is on the 8th floor of the Arthur Rubloff Building (420 E. Superior St. (entering on the south), or 375 E. Chicago Ave. (entering from the north).  Hope to see you there!
