Prospective Visiting Students

Thank you for your interest in completing an away rotation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Each year, the Visiting Student Program at Feinberg School of Medicine receives thousands of applications for a limited number of elective rotation spaces. Eligible participants must be full-time, fourth-year medical students in good standing at LCME- or AOA-accredited U.S. medical schools. Third-year students who have completed their core clerkships in medicine, surgery, pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology are also eligible to apply.

Applications are only accepted through the AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO), which will open for the 2024-2025 academic year in March 2024.

Due to the volume of visiting student applications we have each year, we are not able to respond to your phone calls. If you have questions, please review our FAQ or email visitingstudents@northwestern.edu. Please do not contact faculty or administrative staff directly to attempt to arrange clinical experiences.
