Financial Aid

All students admitted to the MD program are automatically considered for merit scholarships.

Grants

Applicants to the MD program may be eligible for need-based grant funding through the Chicago Office of Financial Aid. The Chicago Financial Aid Office will send out financial aid offer letter showing eligibility for need-based grant funds and student loans on a rolling basis in the spring.

  • Based on federal regulations, not all loans may be available to students in all degree programs.
  • All loans are subject to final approval by your lender(s) based upon criteria set forth by federal regulations and lender policies. Graduate PLUS, Northwestern, and private loans are credit-based.
  • The specific details of these programs may change at any time due to government legislation/regulation, and/or lender/institutional policy.

 

Fellowships

The Northwestern University Office of Fellowships can help current students with the following:

  • Provide support and mentorship through fellowship application process
  • Help you search for fellowships that match your interests and qualifications by using the Fellowship Finder
  • Match you with mentors who have won fellowships that you are pursuing
  • Provide writing help, interview prep and access to essays written by previous winners
