Why did you choose Feinberg?
I chose Feinberg because it was the perfect fit for me! I wanted a school that had an urban setting, valued community engagement, and encouraged students to try research at their own pace in their own way. Additionally, as someone who grew up in the Chicagoland area but moved away for college, I was especially excited about being close to family and getting to experience Chicago as a young adult.
Share your path to Feinberg - what interesting experiences did you have prior to enrolling?
I took two gap years before enrolling in medical school. During those years, I worked as a clinical research assistant in the Department of Neurosurgery at Boston Children's Hospital. In this role, I worked alongside residents and attendings by supporting their research projects, including a cross-institutional project with Massachusetts General Hospital collecting genetic samples from families affected by neurovascular conditions.
