Interview invitations are issued by email solely upon the recommendation of the Feinberg Committee on Admissions. Interviews are held from September through early February, on selected Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at the Feinberg School of Medicine on the Chicago campus of Northwestern University. An applicant is expected to schedule an interview soon after the invitation is issued.
During the morning of the interview day applicants will have a total of three interviews: two individual interviews with members of the Feinberg faculty and one small group interview with a Feinberg senior student. Applicants should plan to visit the FSM campus from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for their interview day. Travel arrangements should be planned accordingly.
Please arrive at 8:00 a.m. for the orientation meeting at the Office of Admissions (303 E. Chicago Avenue, Morton Building 1-606), unless otherwise notified. Light breakfast will be available. We will give you specific information about your interview times and locations, a campus tour, and other pertinent information about your interview day.
During the morning of the interview day, applicants will meet individually with two members of the faculty; they will also meet with Feinberg senior students for a group interview. The average interview lasts 30 minutes but varies slightly according to individual interviewers and applicants.
Feinberg will provide lunch for applicants during the visit. First and second-year medical students will join applicants to talk about their experiences at Feinberg.
All interviewees will meet after lunch for a campus tour conducted by one of our current medical students. This is an excellent opportunity to gain information about Feinberg, student life on and off campus, and the local Chicago community.
