Student Research

Feinberg aims to develop inquiry-driven physicians. We encourage an environment where our MD students can set their own path in scholarship and find research mentors among our field-leading faculty.

Area of Scholarly Concentration

The Area of Scholarly Concentration (AOSC) program is an opportunity for students to personalize their studies, gain expertise in an area of investigation of their choosing and work with an expert faculty mentor as they design and conduct a research project across their four years at Feinberg.

Exceptional Facilities

Northwestern has made an extraordinary investment in research. The new Louis A. Simpson & Kimberly K. Querrey Biomedical Research Center is a 600,000-square foot, 14-story building in the heart of our campus that houses nine laboratory floors dedicated to biomedical research.

What first struck me about Northwestern is the innovative research happening all over campus. The research opportunities, combined with the chance to be trained by world class physicians in Northwestern hospitals and clinics, made Feinberg the perfect fit.”
