Hello prospective students, my name is Leandro Bosch and I am a member of the Class of 2026 here at Feinberg. I am originally from Cuba, born and raised, and transitioned to the United States at the age of 16. I lived in Miami since, and recently moved to Chicago for medical school. I attended Florida International University for undegrad, where I earned a BS in Biological Sciences with a BA in Natural and Applied Sciences.

What was the biggest challenge you faced when starting medical school?

The biggest challenge I faced when starting medical school was the transition to a new city and a much more rigorous academic curriculum. I had visited Chicago mostly in the winter, and having moved back in July, I have to admit that Chicago summers are great! The school also provides numerous resources to facilitate the adjustment process and prioritize student well-being.

Why did you choose Feinberg?

I was fortunate to receive an interview invite from Feinberg very early in the application cycle. It was my first interview, and it certainly set the standards very high for the interviews to come. From the first interaction, I felt that Feinberg was a place where students matter. Beyond world-class hospitals and educational opportunities, the inclusive and supportive environment at Feinberg is what truly makes it a unique choice.

PS: there is also a beach very close to campus, and that definitely added some points.

Topics I can discuss with prospective students:

  • Life in Chicago
  • Campus Life
  • ECMH
  • Student Wellness
  • Academic Support (studying, learning)
  • Student Organizations, Affinity Groups (please see list above)
