Hello! My name is Jessica Tartakovsky, and I am a first-year medical student at the Feinberg School of Medicine. As a graduate of Northwestern University with a Bachelors in Neuroscience and Psychology, I fell in love with the Northwestern community through the support and opportunities I found in my extracurriculars including research in an Infant Cognition Lab, volunteering in the local Chicago community, and participation in student government. I continued to explore my passion in patient care and research during my gap year as a Clinical Research Coordinator in a Movement Disorders Clinic, investigating new treatment options for patients diagnosed with Huntington’s and Parkinson’s Disease.

These experiences showed me that I prioritized a learning environment that would allow me to explore the integration of patient care with innovation and education, leading me to fall in love with the medical program at Feinberg. I am excited to take advantage of similar experiences at Feinberg such as the summer research experience of AOSC, the longitudinal clinical experience in ECMH, and the teamwork embedded into our curriculum through classes such as Problem Based Learning. Most of all, I am thankful to be surrounded by peers and faculty that hold diverse interests while being jointly passionate about changing the future of medicine.

Topics I can discuss with prospective students:

  • Life in Chicago
  • Campus Life
  • ECMH
  • AOSC
  • Student Wellness
  • Academic Support (studying, learning)
  • Northwestern Community
