Why did you choose Feinberg?

I chose Feinberg for several reasons, most notably the people, clinical curriculum, and research experiences. Throughout the whole interview process, it was evident that Feinberg cared about their students’ well-being beyond just their academic achievements, and now as a student, I am so glad that I made the choice to come here. The entire student body and administration has been so supportive, and I could not see myself anywhere else. The clinical curriculum was another huge draw for me as we got to interact with patients on day 1, and learning how to care for patients has been interwoven in the curriculum from the start. Being able to put what we learn in to practice with real patients has taught me more than I could have learned from a textbook alone. And, finally, I knew I wanted to be involved with research, and the AOSC project provided the perfect outlet for me. All the faculty mentors I have talked with are super supportive and help guide us through the research process while helping us learn valuable skills.

What do you enjoy most about living in Chicago?

I live in Streeterville next to campus, and being located here is amazing; the lake is easily accessible, there are lots of good restaurants, and the central location makes traveling to the loop or other neighborhoods easy. The Lakefront Trail is especially great in the summer, and there are a bunch of beaches near campus. And while Streeterville is great, being able to explore different neighborhoods easily is a nice change of pace. So far, I have been able to try a bunch of new restaurants in various other neighborhoods like Ukrainian village and Chinatown, and I would highly recommend visiting different parts of Chicago as each neighborhood has something unique to offer.
