Meet Aniket:
Hi! My name is Aniket Dehadrai, and I’m a first-year medical student at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Although I grew up in Norman, Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner, anyone?) I was actually born here in Chicago, and so this is like my homecoming of sorts! I attended MIT, where I studied Chemistry and Biology, and fell in love with translational research. So much so, that I spent my gap year developing protein therapies at a Biotech startup in Boston! However, these experiences showed me that although I love the science and it is certainly a dream of mine to bring awesome new therapies to patients around the world, my first love is for the clinic. And that’s where Feinberg comes in! This is an extraordinary medical school that not only prioritizes academic excellence, but also emphasizes early clinical exposure, as demonstrated by the ECMH program. And even better, student wellness is a heavy focus as well! In fact, I have loads of time for all my hobbies: Singing (western classical, Broadway, R&B, and Pop), Dancing (Hip-Hop), Basketball (playing pickup and watching my favorite team, the OKC Thunder), and Running (the Lakefront Trail is hands down the best place to go on runs)!
