Welcome to the Feinberg Academy of Medical Educators (FAME) website.
FAME supports faculty members at the Feinberg School of Medicine and its affiliated institutions in their quests to become more effective educators irrespective of educational venue, be it simulation-based settings, small groups, the lecture hall or in the workplace while caring for patients.
We aim to ensure that Feinberg faculty have the knowledge and tools they need to prepare our medical students and residents to provide high-quality, compassionate patient care both during their clinical training and throughout their careers.
Whether helping faculty apply robust curriculum design principles, assess learning outcomes, provide written feedback or facilitate meaningful feedback conversations, Feinberg faculty who are keen to develop as medical educators will find FAME resources and expertise to support them on their journey. As FAME members, educators will become part of a growing and diverse community of educators with expertise in broad domains of healthcare and across educational strategies.
For faculty members new to the Northwestern/Feinberg family, we offer a clinician educator onboarding program consisting of a series of 12 recurring workshops on a variety of topics related to workplace learning, learning theories, feedback and assessment. For dedicated clinical educators seek to advance their skills, we offer a longitudinal faculty development opportunity with the FAME Medical Education Certificate Program. In addition, we offer grand rounds, workshops and educational events that we coordinate with individual departments.
