Disaster Management & Community Emergency Preparedness Initiative

The Disaster Management and Community Emergency Preparedness Initiative (DMCEPI) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine addresses the increasing frequency of natural and human-caused disasters that significantly impact communities.

Created by the Department of Emergency Medicine and George Chiampas, DO, DMCEPI works to establish a nationally recognized initiative encompassing mass event and disaster management, community safety, emergency preparedness, sports safety and event safety.

DMCEPI builds a collaborative network of private and public partners to strengthen communities' awareness, life-saving knowledge and emergency preparedness skills. Through education, training, community outreach and real-world application, the initiative serves as a leading resource for sport and entertainment producers and local, national and global communities.
