She received her a medical doctorate from Harvard University and her health services research fellowship training from the University of Washington and Seattle Children's Hospital after a year as chief pediatric resident. As a physician-investigator, she is passionate about developing evidence-based health care interventions for children with medical complexity (i.e., multiple co-morbidities, technology dependence) that maximize their health outcomes and optimize their health care utilization within a family context. She is particularly interested in evaluating the access to and quality of home health care for children with technology dependence including direct clinical services (e.g. private duty nursing, attendant care) as well as supplies and equipment needed for safe, independent, and vibrant life at home, school, and play. She also serves as research co-lead for the Lurie Children’s Hospital Telehealth Program, guiding research on emerging health technologies such as videoconferencing and remote patient monitoring to bridge identified gaps in care.[Shorten text]
