I use health services research to inform health care policy and to better integrate health care services for children with medical complexity and disability across different settings, from specialty hospital systems to community, home, and school-based care. An important part of my work is evaluation of the impact of complex chronic disease and childhood disability on patients' primary caregiver, siblings, and overall family wellbeing and how that then translates to the wellness of the patient. I am particularly interested in evaluating the access to and quality of home health care for children including direct clinical services (e.g. private duty nursing, attendant care) as well as supplies and equipment needed for safe, independent, and vibrant life at home, school, and play. Lastly, I assist in the use emerging health technologies such as teleconferencing and remote monitoring to bridge these identified gaps in care.[Shorten text]
