Focus of Work
I have a specific interest in promoting breast feeding to mother's who have infants born premature. Human breast milk in the form of donor milk or mother's own milk with human milk fortifier, would be the sole nutrition for premature infants as early as 23-24 weeks gestational age. My goal is to improve these rates in the NICU to promote growth, improve feeding tolerance, decrease infection rates, and improve cognitive development.
