Focus of Work
Dr. Trainor is Associate Chair for Education in the Department of Pediatrics. She is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine and directs the fourth year subinternship in pediatrics for the Feinberg School of Medicine, the fourth year electives and career advising in pediatric medicine at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
Dr. Trainor's primary scholarly interests involve medical education and the use of simulation to teach medical students, residents, and fellows clinical pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. She has a particular interest in interprofessional communication, residency preparedness, and career mentoring in undergraduate medical education. Her areas of clinical research interest include diabetic ketoacidosis and anaphylaxis.
