Early Action

For applicants who have considered all of their options and have decided that Northwestern University is their top choice, Early Action may be a great option. Although PTCAS no longer administers the Early Decision application process, Northwestern University still has an Early Action process in place.

Early Action Process

Review the requirements for applying to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Complete the PTCAS online application and submit all supporting documents at PTCAS.org, including:

  1. Transcripts from all Colleges and Universities listed on your application
  2. Three letters of recommendation
  3. Physical Therapy Observation Hours (volunteer or paid)
  4. Essays
  5. Prerequisite information
  6. Northwestern's Supplemental Application Fee

Deadline

PTCAS will open on June 16 to begin completing applications and will allow application submission starting July 1. The Early Action deadline for Northwestern is Aug. 1. You must complete the PTCAS application and arrange for your transcripts to be received by PTCAS by this date. If application fees or transcripts arrive after Aug. 1, your application will be considered with our regular rolling admissions process.

Admissions Status

Early Action decisions will be sent no later than Sept. 15. Early Action applicants may be offered early admission, denied early admission, or returned to regular applicant status, for further review.

Early Action Scholarships

Applicants who have applied and been admitted under the Early Action application process have the opportunity to apply for Early Action scholarships. Additional information about this scholarship can be found on the Tuition and Scholarships page.
