Standing in Solidarity

At the Center for Health Information Partnerships, we are deeply unsettled, sad, and angry about the divides and systematic mistreatment of Black and Brown people in a country and community that are supposed to be about liberty, equality, and respect for all who live here. We have not lived up to that ideal. The turmoil of the last week has been one for which there are no easy solutions. In whatever comes next, we will speak up and stand up in solidarity with others who seek justice. CHIP is a diverse community. We have deep roots in our communities, and we strive to support our CHIP staff and faculty, as well as our Chicagoland clinicians, researchers, and community partners in this movement. We will strive to actively listen and empathize, recognizing we cannot always understand what others are going through, having not lived it, but are here to offer our support, our voices, and our actions.
