Focus of Work


Dr. Lucey's primary interests include quality improvement and acute inpatient pediatric care. Her current focuses include improving sepsis outcomes, reducing unnecessary monitor use, and optimizing step-down and intermediate care for pediatric patients.

Academic Focus

Dr. Lucey is involved in many quality improvement projects at Lurie Children's Hospital, including national collaboratives such as IPSO (Improving Pediatric Sepsis Outcomes) and EMO (Eliminating Monitor Overuse). She also is active within medical education, teaching workshops to medical students during their pediatric clerkships, giving noon conferences for residency, and serving on the medical school Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety Curriculum Committee.

Clinical Focus

Dr. Lucey works primarily in acute inpatient pediatric care settings. This includes the general medicine teams, medical observation unit, PICU, and intermediate care units.
