My research work is focused on studying the mechanisms that regulate the transcriptional activities of nuclear receptors. Nuclear receptors are transcription factors involved in regulation of many biological processes. In order to initiate transcription, additional factors are required to interact with nuclear receptors and to regulate their activities. These factors are collectively called as nuclear receptor co-factors. Several such co-factors have been identified by our studies. Generating mouse models using gene targeting technology to investigate the functions of these genes is in progress.[Shorten text]
