Bio

Dr. Robert Cohen is Professor of Medicine and Director of Occupational Lung Disease.Dr. Cohen has practiced clinical pulmonary medicine for more than 30 years and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and has been a Certified NIOSH B-Reader since 1998. Dr. Cohen has a broad background in public health, occupational lung disease and has been an investigator in the area of respiratory disease in populations of occupationally exposed workers.

Academic Focus

Dr. Cohen has served as a consultant to several agencies of the United States government in areas of mining related health issues. He has active projects studying imaging, physiology, and pathology of pneumoconiosis including silicosis and coal workers pneumoconiosis. He has also led projects studying injury and illness in mining populations. Clinical Focus

Dr. Cohen's clinical focus is on the evaluation and treatment of patients with lung disease related to work place or environmental exposures including pneumoconiosis, asthma, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, occupational COPD, and interstitial fibrosis related to dust.
