Visiting Medical Students
Thank you for considering a Visiting Student Rotation with the Northwestern University Department of Ophthalmology! We are excited to offer the opportunity for visiting students to gain valuable clinical and surgical skills through our month long rotation, working with highly skilled faculty in a state of the art facility that sits in the heart of Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile.
NOTICE: The last day to submit applications for rotations during the months of June through October 2026 is Friday, April 10, 2026.

Training Sites
Lavin Family Pavilion
- Located in the heart of Chicago’s Magnificent Mile
- Most Northwestern-based rotations occur here
- The Sorrel Rosin Eye Center is on the 15th floor
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago
- On Northwestern’s downtown campus
- Home base for pediatric ophthalmology
- A 23-story facility with 288 single-patient rooms
Our Location
We are located in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood along the shores of Lake Michigan. Our training site through Veteran's Affair is the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center.
