Osher Faculty Fellowship in Integrative Health

The Osher Center for Integrative Health at Northwestern University, in collaboration with the Osher Collaborative, offers a year-long, advanced training program for MDs, DOs, NPs, and PAs with faculty appointments at academic health programs. Designed for practicing clinicians, the fellowship cultivates skilled leaders in integrative health through an interdepartmental, mostly remote learning experience.

Fellows gain in-depth training across the pillars of integrative medicine—including mind-body practices, nutrition, natural products, manual medicine, and whole-systems approaches—while continuing their clinical work. The program also supports fellows in pursuing individualized areas of interest, scholarly projects, and leadership development. Upon completion of the program, scholars will be eligible to sit for the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABOIM) certification exam, affirming their expertise in evidence-informed, whole-person care.

The Osher Collaborative’s broad scope of clinician expertise and diverse patient populations offers fellows a unique breadth and depth of learning opportunities. Teaching faculty are drawn from across the 10 US academic health centers that comprise the Osher Collaborative: Northwestern University, University of California San Francisco, Harvard University, Vanderbilt University, University of Washington, University of Miami, University of Wisconsin–Madison, University of Utah, University of Cincinnati, and University of Vermont. This cross-institutional network brings diverse clinical and academic perspectives into the fellowship. At Northwestern, fellows also benefit from the Osher Center’s robust research and education programs, which enhance mentorship, scholarship, and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Osher Collaborative’s broad scope of clinician expertise and diverse patient populations offer a unique breadth and depth of learning opportunities. In addition, the resources and faculty of the Northwestern Osher research and education programs enhance educational activities, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for fellows.
