Lou and Jean Malnati hosted their first charity dinner in 1971. In 1978, when Lou fell victim to cancer, Jean transformed the yearly event into the Lou Malnati s Cancer Research Benefit. Join us for the 48th annual benefit, which will support the Lou and Jean Malnati Brain Tumor Institute of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, as well as Gilda's Club Chicago and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

This CME program will include sessions on the following topics: current management and new WHO classification of gliomas; diagnosis and management of neurological complications of metastatic brain cancer and its treatment; diagnosis and management of neuro oncologic emergencies; a tumor board style session to discuss cases of interest.

The Northwestern Brain Tumor Support Group welcomes all people affected by brain or spine tumors, including patients, caregivers and families. You don't have to receive care at Northwestern to attend. A licensed clinical social worker and two advanced practice nurses run the group, which offers opportunities to share personal experiences and receive support; meet others affected by brain and spine tumors; and learn more about brain tumor related topics.
