Field-Generated Innovations to Address Elder Abuse, Neglect and Financial Exploitation

Project Period: Oct. 1, 2017, to Sept. 30, 2019
The Buehler Center director was awarded this $500,000 grant to fight elder abuse and financial exploitation by developing an interoperable and integrated dashboard that shares data, risk factors and resources for elder abuse victims. The web-based dashboard application, informed by existing evidence-based elder abuse disability and risk screens, will be available nationally to maximize reach and link healthcare providers, families, friends and victims to identify abuses and to link solutions to abuse.

Mobilizing Public and Political Will to End Food Insecurity and Gender-Based Violence

Project Period: Jan. 1, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2019
Rather than treating the symptom of gender-based violence, this study aims to address the underlying cause, which is women are excluded from agriculture, do not have land tenure or a means to redress violations of her civil rights. The five universities in this consortium are all involved in different aspects of food security.
