Interview Visit Detail
For those invited to the interview weekend, please see below for the schedule, travel information and details on what to expect.
Schedule and General Information
Interview visit dates for admission in 2020 are January 16 to 18, January 30 to February 1 and February 20 to 22.
The program does not require formal dress for the interviews. All events, including the interviews, are meant to be informal and casual. We suggest smart casual or business casual, but jeans are acceptable attire. Because of the season in which we hold our interviews, we advise you check the weather forecast and bring appropriate outerwear and accessories.
The program uses the Hyatt Hotel for rooms and Thursday dinner. Please note that you will be sharing a room with another applicant. The roommate list will be posted here the week of the interview.
We expect approximately 35 applicants on each of the weekends. Thursday dinner will be for everyone at the same time, but Friday dinners will be in groups of eight to 10 at nearby restaurants.
The lunch and reception foods should have items suitable for vegetarians. The Thursday night dinner at the Hyatt will have both meat and meatless dishes. If you have special dietary needs, please let us know ahead of time by contacting program assistant at 312-503-1889.
Applicants who have a disability and need special accommodations for an invited campus tour or interview should make their needs known. The program will endeavor to provide the necessary accommodations and, when needed, consult with Northwestern University’s AccessibleNU Office to meet the needs. If the applicant is admitted and matriculates to Northwestern, the AccessibleNU office is available to provide possible services and accommodations to the student. The office may be contacted by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 847-467-5530.
We will meet in the ballroom on the third floor of the Hyatt Hotel for dinner with students and faculty. This is an informal time for you to relax, eat and ask a few questions with a small number of faculty and students. There will also be a short introductory presentation.
Meet in hotel lobby for walk to Northwestern.

Driving and Parking Directions
We are located a few blocks southeast of the Hancock Building in the Streeterville neighborhood.
The Hyatt hotel is located at 633 North St. Clair St., Chicago, IL 60611, at the corner of St. Clair and Erie streets. The self-park garage is one block north of the hotel between Huron and Superior streets. The hotel and the parking garage, as well as the school buildings, are indicated on the Chicago campus map.
We provide parking in the self park garage (Huron Superior Parking) located between Superior and Huron Streets. An entrance is opposite the Lurie Children's Hospital on Superior Street, and another is opposite Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Huron Street. You can enter from either side (Huron is one-way west bound, and Superior is one-way east bound).
After you enter the parking garage, follow the signs for parking. Take a ticket at the gate and park wherever you can above level one. Take the elevators down to Huron Street. Please refer to the Chicago campus map to see where you are. You will need to head south on St. Clair one block to where you will find the Hyatt Hotel at the corner of St. Clair and Erie streets.
On Friday, at the school, we will provide you with parking garage voucher tickets that will pay for you as you exit. We will provide one sticker for every 24-hour period. The program will reimburse driving expenses by mileage. Please keep track of your miles and keep any receipts for tolls.
