Why did you choose to attend Northwestern MSTP?

When I gave tours of the Evanston campus to prospective students as an undergraduate, I often described Northwestern as the Goldilocks school – it offered the perfect balance of every aspect I wanted in my education. I chose Feinberg MSTP for the same reasons – the opportunity to continue pursuing rigorous research and get a well-rounded medical education in a small, friendly community whose impact out-punches its size. The MD-PhD is not a short endeavor, so having the backdrop of the lake and a world-class city along the way has proven more and more important every day.

Tell us what you enjoyed most about the previous phase.

The Education-Centered Medical Home (ECMH) clinic was my favorite aspect of M1/M2 because it provided a unique chance to apply what I was learning in lecture to the clinical world right from the very start of medical school – I rarely hear of such robust opportunities. In my pediatrics clinic, I quickly came to love the wide range of pediatrics, from new baby visits to more complicated cases requiring referrals to specialists and everything in between.
