Applied Practice Experience
The applied practice experience (APEx) takes place within a community organization or government agency with the purpose of gaining public health experience. A community partners orients a student to the organization’s mission and operations and have the student assist or lead in projects that meet the needs of the organization and the populations it serves. Dependent on a student's interests and concentration, applied practice experience projects can be done domestically with our community partners or internationally through the Robert J. Havey, MD Institute for Global Health.
