I gained a broad skillset in everything from epidemiology to healthcare management. Ultimately, this lead me to consider the broader implications of my academic work during my PhD. Getting my MPH also encouraged me to seek employment outside of academics where I felt I could have a different type of impact.

While in training, I loved being able to take what I learned about disease pathophysiology in medical school and directly apply it to local community education planning and global healthcare delivery in my MPH courses.

— Lisa Akintilo, MD/MPH, current dermatology resident

The knowledge, perspectives and skills gained during my time at Northwestern have truly enriched my medical school experience, and I genuinely feel like I have an advantage over my peers based on my previous educational endeavors.
