Northwestern Memorial Hospital, in partnership with the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, is a nationally recognized academic medical center and a major Midwest referral center, with more than 2,055 physicians representing virtually every clinical specialty. Patient accommodations include 894 beds between Northwestern Memorial and its Prentice Women’s Hospital. The Northwestern Memorial Hospital Emergency Department cared for 84,632 patients in 2017.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) is the only hospital in Illinois on the US News & World Report Best Hospitals 2018-2019 Honor Roll. This year’s Honor Roll highlights just 20 hospitals, of which NMH ranks 13th nationwide for its breadth and depth of clinical excellence. Northwestern Memorial is recognized in the Best Hospitals ranking for outstanding performance in 11 of the 16 ranked specialties.
