Postdoctoral fellows play critical roles in the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology. Beyond their continued training and science productivity, their role includes:
- Mentoring graduate students
- Teaching courses
- Participate in out-reach programs to bridge communities
The department is committed to training true scientists, whose occupation could be anything from principal investigator, project manager at a research-intensive pharmaceutical company, or professor at a liberal arts college. Postdoctoral fellows in Cell & Developmental Biology are strongly encouraged to apply for external fellowships and awards, and are expected to depart with a strong publication record.
