Scholarships Campaign
We are embarking on an ambitious effort of raising $200 million in scholarship funds by 2032. Since 2013, the medical school’s scholarship funding has surged from $113 million to nearly $300 million toward our ultimate $800 million goal.
The need for scholarship support is greater than ever. The cost of medical education continues to rise, and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine faces fierce competition as top medical schools have dramatically increased their scholarship endowments.
Key facts:
- Total annual expenses including tuition, fees, health insurance, activity fees, and indirect costs such as housing, food, and books average $116,302.
- Beginning July 1, 2026, federal direct unsubsidized loans will be capped at $200,000, and the federal Grad PLUS loan will end.
We invite you to consider these five impactful ways to support or increase your scholarship support:
- Annual giving for scholarships
- Leadership annual giving for scholarships
- Named endowed scholarships
- Legacy gifts (estate and planned giving) for scholarships
- Transformative gifts that forever change our scholarship program
Thank you for being a part of our scholarship team. Our efforts today will Forever Shine in the lives of our medical students and those who follow in their footsteps.
