Welcome to the MD Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The Augusta Webster, MD, Office of Medical Education (AWOME) supports the academic, personal, and professional development of all Feinberg medical students. Our faculty and staff provide guidance for achieving academic excellence and career development opportunities and serve as the liaison for a wide range of student support services. We also support several extra-curricular programs and events to enhance the educational goals of our students. We aim to provide an open, caring, and inviting environment where every medical student and faculty member is always welcome.
During your time here, we want to do everything we can to help you flourish. We are deeply committed to the success of every Feinberg student.
Student Success at Feinberg
As the Associate Dean of Student Affairs, my team’s primary goals are to help ensure that all students realize their full potential and have a rewarding medical school experience. We define Student Success as the umbrella under which we develop and offer support services at AWOME to meet those goals. Everything we do needs to contribute to our students’ mastery of their studies and environment.
Why It’s Important?
Our office wants to be there to support you through this new experience, and make it one in which all students can thrive, learn and maintain work-life harmony.
We’ve listened to current and past students, and developed our support along four key pillars:
All that you’ll need to get to the right place at the right time with the tools you’ll need when you get there: white coats, IDs, public transportation, maps
- Academic Support
Programs and resources to help you achieve academically: study sessions, testing reviews, individual assistance
- Career Development
Guidance through your program and into the rewarding career you desire: timelines, specialty interest groups, residency application help
- Student Wellness
Our initiative to encourage resilience, balance, and contentment with your education and future career: student groups, activities, self-care resources
We are so excited that you are here at Feinberg. We hope you will take some time to explore all four student success areas on our website. We are here to help ensure that all of our students succeed in every way possible. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
