Biomedical Research Center Groundbreaking Ceremony

On May 8, 2015, the Feinberg community gathered to celebrate its newest building, the Louis A. Simpson and Kimberly K. Querrey Biomedical Research Center. Leaders from the university, Northwestern Medicine, the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the City of Chicago joined Dean Neilson at the groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the new building, which will house nine laboratory floors dedicated to biomedical research and is scheduled to be completed in winter 2019. The event included many prominent speakers, including US Senator Mark S. Kirk and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
