Directors' Message

We are delighted that you are interested in the Health Sciences Integrated PhD program (HSIP) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Feinberg's mission is to improve the health of people. HSIP supports that mission by fostering an environment of academic excellence and intellectual diversity where world-class scientists, clinicians, faculty and students come together for interdisciplinary accomplishment.

Each of our PhD students develops an individualized course of study that draws on the broad and deep resources found in The Graduate School and the Feinberg School of Medicine. The aim of HSIP is to provide a strong academic foundation for students to focus on and excel in research that addresses processes and methodologies in clinical and population sciences. Students will have the opportunity to learn from and work with other students and faculty across the Health Sciences to prepare for research positions in academic or healthcare institutions, or leadership positions in governmental and policy organizations.

This website is designed to answer questions you may have about the program, including admissions requirements, timeline, general curriculum and tracks within the program. HSIP faculty and staff are also available to provide additional information and assistance.

Sincerely,

Lucy Bilaver & Richard Epstein
