Consultation Support & ShARPs
The Center for Community Health offers access to faculty, professional staff, and experienced community partners who provide expertise and guidance related to the unique methodological and practical challenges of the research process.
Our consultations provide support in the following areas:
- Proposal review and support: Develop compelling grant applications with guidance from CCH experts.
- Research assistance: Find assistance at various phases of a project.
- Finance and administration guidance: Get experienced assistance with financial and contractual challenges.
- Partner brokering and development: Establish and build partner relationships and connect with appropriate partners for your work and goals.
For more information, review our document highlighting the key considerations in community-engaged research.
Our Consultation Programs
Shared Resource Panels
Request a panel (ShARP) to gather input from 8-10 community partners who have professional and personal expertise related to your research project.
Dissemination & Implementation Consultations
Contact our Dissemination & Implementation program to set up a consultation on best practices for translating evidence-based services and programs into clinical and community practice.Update to ShARP Funding and Planning Guidelines
At this time, we currently require a minimum of 8 weeks from the time a research team requests a ShARP session to the date the session is conducted due to limited capacity. We currently provide one ShARP session free of charge if conducted during the grant preparation/pre-award phase.
For teams requesting a ShARP session for an existing/funded project, we ask that research teams include funding for a ShARP session within their project budgets. The requested budget allocation helps ensure that community partners and participants are appropriately recognized for their time and contributions. Depending on the session format (virtual or in-person), costs primarily support participant compensation and, for in-person sessions, refreshments or meals.
For more information on these updates and an estimated ShARP budget, please contact Megan Sanico, Program Coordinator, at megan.sanico@northwestern.edu or (312) 772-6717
