Program Description
The neurological surgery residency is a seven year program: one year of integrated surgical internship followed by six years of neurosurgical training, including four and a half years of clinical neurosurgery instruction. Two to three candidates are appointed each year. To complete the program, residents must pass the written examination of the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

| YEAR FIVE (PGY6) | Dependent on focus of research elective | RESEARCH YEAR Residents will either serve 12 months of elective time in a basic neuroscience laboratory at any of the three campuses, or participate in advanced clinical training in a chosen subspecialty |
